- About Me -
I love to bike and ski! Over the past few years, biking has become an important part of my life. Because I live
in a city, it's easier and less expensive to bike around, rather than take public transportation or own a car.
Additionally, I feel that by biking, I am doing my part to helping the environment and reducing CO2 emissions.
In general, biking can get you anywhere in the city faster than driving or taking the bus/subway.
I was born in Connecticut, attended Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I am currently an IT auditor at a well-established financial organization. While at Northeastern, my passion lied in the computer realm, however, after this trip, much has changed. I would love to keep biking across the country and other parts of the world. More importantly, I would like to ride for causes including: education, homelessness, and affoardable housing. During my 5 college years, I enjoyed being a part of NUHOC, Northeastern's outdoors club. I was a member for a few years, but also served on their board as webmaster, vice-president of publicity, and vice-president of organization. Prior to college, I was a Boy Scout of troop 921. There, I earned my Eagle Scout award, as well as the bronze palm (6 more merit badges). Many of the skills I learned in scouting were transferred to the outdoors club. Thanks to funding from Northeastern, I was also able toobtain my Wilderness First Responder certification. During the trip, I was asked (on a daily basis) why I was doing this trip. First, I strongly believe that everyone needs a break between their college graduation and the start of their adult lives. Too many graduates believe they need to start working right after getting their crisp diploma, but honestly, most of us will be working for 40+ years of our lives, so why rush into it? This trip is my legacy, however, I hope the future holds more trips like this in other parts of the world. I'm very grateful and lucky to even have this kind of opportunity. During the trip, I was often asked how I could afford the trip. Being able to attend college, holding a job, and saving for a trip like this seems like no big deal for many of us. Yet in other parts of this country, it's not realistic. I think this is what can be lost so often on a day to day basis. Don't ever take for granted what you have, no matter how insignificant you may think it is. This is pretty much my story. If you want to get in touch with me for any reason, I'd be more than happy to chat. Send me a message, and I'll get back to you when I have a moment. Thanks for stopping by!
